While this desk is fine for eating in bed or reading, it's not very useful as a laptop desk (which its main advantage is ) . While the table is sturdy and comfortable, the metal strip in the center of the table where it folds up is slightly raised above the surface of the rest of the table. This leaves the laptop crooked on the table and personally I'm concerned that this could result in scratches. If you're looking for an all-purpose nightstand this might be for you, but if you're looking for a good laptop desk/desk I'd spend a few bucks more and look elsewhere.
