Review on CASIO Classic Black Resin Strap Quartz 18 Casual Watch (Model: EAW-F-91W-1) by Laura Decker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I still love them but most of the time I just want one watch.

I'm fed up with big, chunky watches. I have a Suunto and a couple of G-Shock watches. I still wear them, still love them, but basically I just want a watch that keeps time well, doesn't stick out 3/4 of an inch on my wrist, and hopefully looks a little silly. I'm cheap too. Waterproofness is important to me. I work at the table. I travel by bus or train, the clock helps with that. I like to run a few times a week and wear a watch. I don't sleep or shower with a watch on unless I'm camping or in a hotel. I like digital better than analog because I like to know exactly when I'm thinking and I only ever guess when I'm reading an analog clock because I'm lazy. Also, when I'm in a meeting or being held by someone I don't want to talk to and I want to know if it's really taking forever or if my perception of the flow of time is just distorted, it's easier to look at a digital clock and get an accurate one to get a reading. A few months ago I realized that I'm just as happy with a $15 Casio as I am with my $250 Suunto and most of the time I don't need to know the air pressure. Several days, yes. Not most days. But I love having different watches (including Suunto, they are awesome). And I like to choose which watch to wear every morning. It's fun. I recently joined Revain and ordered some new cheap Casio watches. I bought four new watches for $52. I think Timex is overpriced. I'm that cheap. Casio W-800HAV ($20) Digital Black. My eight year old son and I each received one of these watches for Christmas 2016. we both love it We both have other watches, but these are the ones we wear the most. It has a fairly low profile - doesn't hang from pockets or shirt sleeves. I love the light - it looks silly, such a trifle. But it lights up the face really well. Sometimes I run at night. The light works well enough that I can see how slow I'm going, even when I'm driving down the road. And it has "Dual Display". I don't know what else to call it. It shows the time in one part of the screen and shows the stopwatch numbers at the same time. Nice to follow both. Or when I'm on the road, I set the stopwatch as the train passes because I know the train passes every 15 minutes. This allows me to see when I'm approaching the next 15 minute mark and see the time on the secondary display. Casio F-201WA ($10.47) Digital Black. Cozy. Light. The simplest keys. good light. I love that it has a countdown timer and lots of alarms. I miss seeing the time in stopwatch mode like I can with the W-800HAV and WV-200A. Casio WV-200A ($40) Waceceptor Digital Black with Chrome and Red. Looks great. Like a steel case. Good protection for glass. Relatively difficult. Too thick. Really nice buttons. Excellent electroluminescent light. It's the only watch in the group that can be set not to beep with every button press. I like that you can turn off the beep. Sometimes I like to put a stopwatch in a meeting so I can see how long someone is fooling around. Oddly enough, the timing of someone's bullshit is a great way to distract you from that bullshit. But I don't like it when my watch beeps when I press the buttons. Dual Display - You can still see what time it is when you are in other modes. The countdown timer is good and many of my other watches don't have one. I don't give him extra credit for anything Wave Ceptor related. For me it doesn't add any value and eats up the battery a bit. This watch was on my wrist for a full day while snorkeling and did a great job with it. I live in a landlocked country so I'm in the water all day when I get to the sea. I can't go any deeper than 20 feet, so it's not a serious test of a watch that says it's 200 meters. But when you dive 200m and time is critical, you need little more than a $40 Casio. (I love you Casio). Casio HDA-600 ($14.79) Black equivalent. Not the most comfortable. Like squeezing my wrist from bone to bone or flapping around a bit. I don't know, it's just weird. YMMV. I love the face shield. I can't wait for him to start looking a little disfigured. Luminous dots on the hands are not particularly impressive. The date window works great. Looks tough, but probably isn't. i really like him Casio MQ24-7B2 ($14 something) analog with a white face. Incredibly light. In fact, forget you're wearing it. Easy to read. There is no date window. Lumi is not. Beautiful, simple and never snags on the sleeve of a classic shirt. Yes I'm crazy. Some people are smart enough to read analog clocks that don't have numbers, just dots. I'm not one of those people. I suck enough when it comes to numbers. It has numbers. i like numbers Not tested for water resistance. Casio just says it's waterproof. I almost never do underwater destruction again. Casio A168W-1 ($16.15) in stainless steel. I love/hate this watch. I don't know if Casio was really trying to make a watch that looked fancy, but it was actually a dumb bomb, or if we're going to make a dumb bomb our goal. Either way. This watch is a complete success. I think this watch is the pinnacle of nerd bragging. A 1980s stockbroker, a tough old man who doesn't care, some silver up his sleeve to get someone's attention - oh wait, it's a fucking digital Casio. I mean it's chrome plated PLASTIC to scream out loud. How cool is that? i love it all Love it. It has an illuminator light that works great. Clock, date, stopwatch and alarm clock. No countdown timer. The metal band is uncomfortable. It has edges and pulls the fur down my arm. The clasp works great and is easy to adjust. Slips easily under a shirt. Again: super asshole. Makes me smile every time I wear it. Then wince when he tugs at the fur. Casio F91W-1 ($11.35) Black Digital. I really like this watch. He's super skinny. Very easy. The light looks silly but works well. The buttons are easy to press. It ranks pretty high on the dork scale. People will recognize it. Press and hold this button and it's called CASIo. That's great. I can proudly say that I have never worn this watch with a flannel and a hat. Never.

Pros
  • Rectangular digital sports watch with alarm, chronograph function and night light
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was
