I bought this sewing kit for my 7 year old who wants to learn to sew and I knew my 5 year old wanted to do it too so I knew I had to help her. But I also had to help my 7 year old with her. My 7 year old made most of the panda himself and I helped my 5 year old with the snake. They are both very happy with how they have developed and have played with them a lot. We were annoyed that not all holes were fully punched and even those that still have fabric on them only have to be pierced with a needle. but my 7 year old said it made it harder for her to see holes. Our set only included 3 large plastic sewing needles, not 5 as advertised. But since we only needed 2 needles at a time, we didn't care. The "filling" can get dirty, like glue. I really like the carrying case that it comes in because it's easy to store anything not in use. The instructions also say to cut the thread to the length of a child's arm, but that's only good for part of the project and you'll have to cut more if needed.
