We have a three car garage, my wife uses the one furthest from the front door and when she comes home at night the light in the garage door opener above her car does not shine all the way to the door. So instead of using a small lightbulb inside the garage door opener that only illuminates a small area under the opener, I plugged the lightbulb into a regular outlet adapter and plugged into the garage door opener: https://smile. amazon.com/GE-Polarized-Adapter-Install-54276/dp/B002DN6QX2 I then connected an extension to this adapter and used an adapter with a reversing light socket at the end of the extension: https://smile.amazon.com/GE-54173 -Adapter -Converts-Polarized/dp/B002DN2OEMI, then another extension cord was connected to the first and repeated once more, a total of three extension cords on one side to the front door, each with a lamp socket, and one extension cord on the other side. These bulbs were then screwed into a socket at the end of the extension cord, and the whole thing was securely fastened to a joist in the garage ceiling. Now when her garage door opens my entire garage lights up and she can safely find her way through all my stuff to the front door. Wife says it's too bright in the garage! Note that the light is very "cold" light, very white, and a bit harsh.
