To paraphrase Linus, "It's actually not a bad little junction box." It all depends on what you intend to do with it. Pre-cut holes with plastic plugs are nice in a way. They say you just have to cut an "X" in the plastic connector and thread the wire through it. This works, but the box is no longer watertight unless you seal the cable where it comes out of the plastic connector. I was planning to buy cable glands instead of plastic plugs. Unfortunately, the holes are about 1" in diameter, which means you must use 3/4" NPT cable glands. The problem is that 3/4" oil seals only tighten to 0.4" in diameter .Ethernet, phone and coax cables are 1/4" or less in diameter, so the cable gland will NOT fit snugly around the wire. Yes, you can seal the wire, but then you can also use the plastic plugs that come with this junction box If you want a tidier and more watertight junction box I would recommend buying a box that DOES NOT have pre-punched holes, you can then cut the correct size holes to fit the correct size cable glands so that they have a form a watertight seal around the wires.
