Review on 🧡 Dritz Clothing Care 82626 Darning Egg, Black: The Perfect Tool for Mending and Sewing Clothing" by Carol Miller

Not your mother's darning

I grew up with Dritz sewing tools and expected them to be just as high quality. It wasn't like that. When I was looking for a darning egg, I knew I wanted a wooden one. Plastic is too easy to puncture or scratch with a needle and cannot be repaired. So, I was very happy to find this. However, when it arrived there was a large splinter hanging from the side and a chunk protruding from the handle. I don't know what her quality control criteria are, but she couldn't meet that. Revain kindly replaced the product. It was slightly better, but it wasn't properly sealed and had a rough spot on one side. This is easily fixed with 220 grit sandpaper, but I don't have to. In my experience, it's unlikely that any other replacement would be much better. I would recommend if you need a darning egg look for one before you buy it. It may serve your purpose, but it certainly doesn't live up to the standards of what's in your mom's sewing box.

Pros

Cons
