Filters great but reduces water use significantly, even when new. I used this filter to replace a coarse grit filter that was becoming very clogged and was surprised to find that my tap water usage actually *decreased*. Everyone needs to filter their drinking water, and this is one of the few effective and affordable ways to do it. But I would recommend installing TWO filter housings with these filters in parallel rather than in series if flow rate is important. I would also recommend installing it with a separate drinking water tap - because it's a really tight filter and therefore clogs up a lot quicker than coarse filters. For reference, it takes about 70 seconds through my cold water faucet (with this filter on it and it's fairly new) to run a gallon of water. Through my hot water faucet (same pressure, same faucet, no filter) it takes about 40 seconds.
