Review on πŸ“» Highly Portable and Sleek Sony ICF38 AM/FM Radio in Black - Perfect for On-the-Go Listening by Kelly Kunkel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good sound bad looks

I had a sleek Sony radio/remote weather receiver, clutch size and shape, white, with buttons that I really liked. Unfortunately, television is no longer transmitted wirelessly, so Sony has apparently decided to abandon this model altogether. When he died I had hopes for him. The sound is better. Everything else is worse. It's black, bigger, boxy and ugly - it looks like it was designed in 1973. It doesn't do anything at all for the space it's in. Your car, so if a station gets boring, just press a button and switch to one of the other stations you've tuned into. Instead you have to scroll and try to hit the station straight ahead and after a while it kind of moves and you have to retune. Having a cord is kind of a plus, although I carry mine from room to room so I use batteries. If you can keep it in one place and plug it in, it saves batteries. The sound is smooth and good for NPR listening. I don't actually use it for music, so I can't comment on how it's doing for that, but I think it would be nice. But, dear Sony, why not make it as elegant and easy to use as the old one? Why can we have any color we want as long as it's black?

Pros
  • Nice looks
Cons
  • I'll write later
