I ride tubeless on the Autobahn - Schwalbe Po One 24mm tires. I recently had a pretty big scratch on my rear wheel. With Stans sealant it will hold about 50 or 60 psi. But a little higher, and the sealant "explodes" and the tire loses pressure. Basically, the hole was too big to fill with tubeless sealant. The plugs on the bacon side solved the problem completely. I rubbed a strip of bacon with a small amount of rubber glue from the hose patch kit, which started the chemical vulcanization process. Then I carefully drilled a hole in the tire. Using a very small, pointed tool, I carefully inserted the bacon into the hole, being careful not to puncture the tape on the rim tape. I pinched the strip about 1/4 inch. I then inflated the tire to 80psi (normal riding pressure), rotated the tire a few times to remove the sealant, and then hung the wheel fat side overnight to allow the sealant to seal the seam. where was the bacon. I checked the pressure in the morning to make sure the tire was holding air. Then I cut off the excess bacon and the bread was ready. In short, the pressure held up. All good to go. Savef has to buy a new tire for $60.
