I'm doing a welding course and don't want to buy a lot of expensive equipment. It meets the criteria. However, now that I've moved on, I've found that it's not enough for long-term use. It's cheap and inexpensive, but good enough for a beginner. Difficult to tighten the thumbscrews enough to raise the visor (most inexpensive helmets are similar). The viewing lens is a standard size, so my bifocals don't work. But I didn't know about it until I started this training. Others in this class who have been welding for many years wear helmets with liquid crystal lenses. I've tried a few of these and liked them much better as you turn the knob to lighten or darken the lens rather than changing the glass shades depending on the needs of the weld. This will help you and you won't be gone often when you decide welding isn't for you.
