I Oahu experiences summer weather year-round, which is why flip flops — "flip flops,” or locally zori — are the island's official footwear. I wanted something better than the typical flat neoprene zori. Indeed, Voya looks gorgeous in World Beat New Age hippie style. While they're durable and dry quickly, they're not ideal for beach or water activities: they're too good to leave on the beach while you're surfing. When you come back to shore, they won't be there! Instead, it's more of grocery shopping at Wholefoods or hanging out with liberal friends. The materials appear to be of excellent quality but time will tell for sure. Finally, I wear size 8 dress shoes and these Teva fit true to size. For most other sandals and zori I have to go to size 9. The Teva Voya has a very thick sole - you won't feel any small rocks through the sole - and a wealth of arch support. The arch support felt a bit too aggressive at first, but I got used to it and now prefer the feel - I can't wear flat dawns anymore! So yes, great zori pair: comfortable, true to size and good looking.
