Our furnace humidifier leaked and flooded part of the basement so I bought it in case it happens again. I also put them around the hot water tank, water pump and water softener. I don't know if they work as we haven't had another leak, but these pigs look clean and don't smell, so we're done. It's been a year since my original review and due to the insane amount of rain, our basement was leaking in a corner due to an overflowing drain. I had 3 pigs near this location and they kept the water from spreading so I think they worked fine. I didn't try to dry them, just threw them away. There wasn't much water so I don't know how much they will actually absorb, but I will always keep them near problem areas.
