I was concerned this gate would not be strong but it fitted our living room entrance perfectly, even better than the standard size gate we have in our kitchen door. Sure, it has a large door frame to move around without slipping, and a 35-pound German Shepherd puppy is less likely to jump/lean on it, but it was like a rock. I noticed that the extra red lock seems to click easily even when you're not necessarily trying to use it, and that two hands are required to open the gate again, unlike our smaller kitchen door which requires extra effort, to lock the red lock. It might annoy me if this happens at our kitchen gate because we often go in and out of there with our hands full, but the need for two hands (or at least two separate actions) to open our living room gate isn't important.
