I purchased two gates - 2 different brands. This gate is fantastic! Easy enough to install as well one handed for opening and closing. It’s sturdy and durable. I got a cheap one of a well known brand and it was fine but then i grabbed one of these to block another entryway for my dogs. This one is so much better. The cam lock makes a huge difference in usability especially on stairs. And being able to keep it less tight so i can lift it off the bottom lip with my foot when going down the stairs with my hands full is extra useful. I like it so much more, I just bought another one to replace the name brand one for good.

Product was easy to assemble. It took my husband and I together about 15 mins to get it secured between the posts on our deck - it is a tricky spot though as the surface is uneven. Any traditional baby gate would not work. This probably contributed to our difficulty in installing it but 15 mins is not a super king time. Overall would recommend!

This gate is sturdy, functions beautifully and works well for our pet. We love that it opens either way and will either stay open at 90 degrees or automatically close when opened less that that. I was happy with the gate upon arrival, it seemed solid, well made, good finish, well packed, etc. Upon installation, the fixed side of the latch sat higher than the swinging side of the latch. This mean that the gate could still be closed and latched, but that the auto-close/latch function did not work (it bounced back without latching). We have purchased a few of these gates and two have already broken. A piece of the handle broke on one and the other our toddler can just lift and open it somehow even though it is tightened as close as it should be. Perhaps those were defective but it’s not clear how to contact the manufacturers for replacements - if in fact there is a warranty. At this time I wouldn’t recommend a product this expensive that could break after normal usage with no guarantee of a warranty.

They were fairly easy to install, except that I live in a 100 year old home and some of the floors and door frames are not even/level. Had some difficulty with that, but have figured that out. Can be connected to wall via screw-in mounts, or can be pressure mounted. Opened the boxes and had the top and bottom of a flight of stairs protected in less than 10 minutes!

I got this to put at the top of my stairs to keep my dogs from going down into the living room. I had to have my ex-husband come over and install it.It did not work well at all at the top of the stairs because of the bottom bar. My ex had to come back over and put it at the bottom of my stairs so it is not such a hindrance. It works well at the bottom of the steps, or at least a lot better. I could definitely do without that little bar at the bottom.

We installed this on our landing because our dog can push through and we only wanted it to open and close one way. We didn’t tighten the latch because we wanted to be able to open and close it easily. It works great and stays in place without screwing it into the wall.

We went through a few types of similar styled gates in the $40-$50 range, but they all had terrible latching mechanisms that eventually failed and became almost impossible to open. My parents had a couple of these gates for their dogs and had nothing but praise, so we sprung for a pair to keep our toddler contained in our split-level house. No complaints so far.

Comparing this gate with another brand we have, this gate isnt anywhere close to same quality.The locking mechanism is chintzy. A few pieces of plastic that have to come together correctly to lock. We have to make sure its locked. Our other gate just locks.Im not unhappy enough to uninstall and return it, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Looks great. Appears great till your 15 month old can push open the gate without even engaging the lock. I loved it till he shook the gate without much force and it opens on its own. Do not recommend for children just dogs.

The stickers provided on the pieces that tighten to the wall slip a little. They stick when you don't want them to and don't stick when you need them to and shift a little.Only thing that would improve is if the bottom bar was flat to floor which would prevent tripping when going up and down the stairs.Very easy to operate and works well.

I think how much I love this gate every time I walk through it! One end of the house is a ‘puppy-free zone’…the cat’s sanctuary; I just put a cat scratcher next to it for him to go over. It feels so sturdy and smooth to operate, and auto-close is great!

This gate is easy to install and is sturdy enough to keep my rambunctious 1 year old from shaking it down or opening it himself. The lock feature is great because you slide a button and pull up to actually disengage the locking mechanism. It takes a good bit of force to pull up so this gate would likely keep most toddlers from getting through.

This gate is very well made and was easy to install. The parts to install are simple and installation was a breeze. I like the lift up feature to open the gate rather that some gates I've had where you had to move a button back and forth while squeezing a latch to open the gate. I would buy this gate again.
