Review on Giro DND Mountain Cycling Gloves for Men by Derrick Milkie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I saved my skin by ordering more for the future.

1 month (100 miles) Rating: Has saved my skin many times, will buy again. My palm = 21.5 cm I ordered medium ones, they fit PERFECTLY. Both worked great when paired with Easton Lock-On grips (<-highly recommend) and ODI clamps. They also ensure decent air circulation/breathing in the summer. Hands do sweat a little on longer, hot climbs, these are gloves, not magic. I recently had a bad fall on my hand (sprained 2 fingers and bruised badly) and luckily the gloves took the brunt of the force without tearing! Aside from the blood stains, they still look brand new! I've washed them in the washing machine 5 times and they still look great. I like that thumb (perfect for shifting!) and forefinger (perfect for breaking) have plastic hooks, they are not reflective. You can control your phone to take a photo or zoom in on a map, but you have to take off your gloves to send a message to a friend (e.g. using the keyboard). These gloves have very MINIMAL palm padding. There's a degree of padding in the palm area under the thumb where it meets the handlebars, but it's noticeable and appreciated. I used to wear GIRO fingerless XC gloves with high palm padding, but realized I went with them because I wanted thicker grips (Easton lock-ons solved that problem). I don't get more (or less) blisters with these less padded gloves compared to my XC style GIRO gloves. The suede makes up the bulk of the glove and is very durable while still being soft. The "back of the thumb" wipe area could be softer, but is great for cleaning GoPro lenses. Would recommend to a friend, will buy again, will always wear these gloves when riding to protect my skin (literally).
