I just installed it on my wife's Lexus GX470. Here's the procedure. Open the hood (I used a retractable snow brush). Using a 12mm box wrench, remove the top bolt from ONE side of the hood. If you remove the top section first, it will be easier to fold back the post to access the bottom pin. Remove the bottom bolt with the strut attached. Install the studs in the top and bottom holes (note: stock posts have a built-in metal washer that cannot be removed). When installing these replacement bolts, you can use a 12mm socket to speed up the installation. I found and used some spare discs but will probably do without them. Slide one of the spacers onto the bottom stud (note the orientation - the cylinder is on top - look to the other side with the original strut still installed if you're confused). Slide the top of the post onto the top stud (the head on it will rotate to align it). At this point, a new clip alone could hold my hood up, but I would still use something to keep the hood from falling off. Install the other side in the same way. I hope this review helps you.
