Review on Z GO Powerwise Diode Charger Diode by Brian Garrett

I had a bad diode on my Powerwise charger. I have found it to be exactly what I need as per the description [This item replaces part #28548G01 in the diode/heatsink assembly], replacing the correct part number. The item looks well made. I installed a couple of these diodes after removing the original assembly. Put the charger back into service. Much to my regret, both the charging connector cord and the power cord became very hot. I tested the diodes on the bank and they were both fine. To rule out an outlet, I tried other outlets and also plugged in other chargers, which worked great. "Fixed" Charger got so hot I didn't think I could use it safely. I did some research on Amazon and found a replacement diode and heatsink assembly that matches the original style. I installed it and the charger works great, doesn't overheat or even get hot. I can only conclude that the heat dissipation properties of these diodes are ineffective.
