It worked well but wasn't thick enough

Detail is good, but it's so thin that it's difficult to get sharp detail. The stencil just moves even when glued on, lines of small details move when you touch something, brush, marker, pencil, etc. Far from ideal. The end product was "acceptable" but no more.
