Review on πŸ’» Gigabyte Ultra Compact Mini PC with Intel UHD Graphics 600, 2.5" HDD SSD, HDMI (2.0) Component - GB-Blce-4105R: Ultimate Performance in a Compact Design by Kevin Silver

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good value for . Best in Computers & Tablets

As is often the case with Revain, there are many 5 and 1 star ratings which defeat the purpose of the rating system; to provide other buyers with a genuine and honest experience to consider when making their purchasing decisions. I hope this is helpful and debunks the 1 star rating with the quote "Windows 10 barely runs, if at all / robbery". It's just wrong and uninformed. In short, I have a great sub-$200 general computing device with better or more resources onboard than the average sub-$200 device typically sold at Revain. The value of such a machine to someone depends on what that person wants. do with it. It's certainly not a rip-off for the $127 retail price (announced for several weeks in February). Complaining about "Lack of memory" and "Lack of operating system" (as well as "Lack of memory") intentionally. It's a basic kit aimed at customers who can decide for themselves what processing they need and what they want to add in terms of memory, storage and operating system. I added 8GB of storage ($33) and a 240GB SSD ($37). A review of devices under $200 at Revain shows that they have less storage (typically 4GB), much less storage (many "too small" 32GB, others "working" 64GB or rare, rare 128GB), and all with less powerful processors (some much less powerful), resulting in very poor performance. x5 Z8350 and N3060 processors are widely used and their rating is much lower than that of the J4105 processor in this Brix. I tried the x5-Z8350 last year and had to return it. Processor scores can be easily viewed at userbenchmark.com, a website dedicated to comparing honest scores. You can get away with 4GB of storage, but 8GB offers a smoother experience and isn't that much more expensive. The 240GB SSD is just over 120, and there's an option to use or upgrade more storage, as well as lower-cost hard drives if that suits your needs (storing and playing lots of local videos, for example). 10 minutes to add memory and storage for this device and anyone can easily do it. This mini pc works great with Windows 10 (free/not activated) and Ubuntu (free). The only limitation I know about the free unactivated Windows 10 is the watermark on the bottom left of the screen. I'm not a gamer, but if you think that your requirements are high and that high performance comes first and is your main need, then of course you understand that this device probably isn't for you. On the other hand, the claim that Windows 10 is unlikely to work is most likely not based on real experience and does not reflect reality. I can say from actual usage that it works great with Windows 10 and Ubuntu. Over the past few years I've had first-hand experience with several carefully chosen "lower end" devices/processors used for surfing, streaming, email, spreadsheets, documents, and home theater (playing my local video files), all of which could run Windows and perform the listed tasks easily. like this device. A quick search for the J4105 processor will bring you to a number of devices that use this CPU, and while these devices have negative reviews for various reasons, none of them say "the processor cannot run Windows". I'm not a Gigabyte employee. and never bought their products. I have purchased Intel NUC and Kodlix kits in the past (complete systems under $200) and have been very happy with the value and functionality. Overall, my impression of Gigabyte is that they are considered a quality brand that will have more positive than negative reviews. I was intrigued by the $127 price tag ("Could this be good?") as I needed another home theater unit so I ordered it (in the unlikely event it didn't work with Windows 10 I would just buy it hand back). it). After using this device for a week I am very happy with my purchase and will update this review if I encounter any issues.
