Another solid smart home device from meross

I've been using Meross products for a long time and have a dozen or more devices in my house to control everything from lights to a coffee pot to towards Christmas lights . I also have their garage doors. All of them have shown excellent results and are on par with much more expensive brands (I have several versions too). When I saw their latest product with two outlets, I decided to try one of them because I thought it would simplify some areas of our jewelry. I set up routines via Alexa to turn the lights on at different times, make sure the coffee pot is turned off, etc. As with all Meross products I've had, setting up this device was very easy. Each individual fork is controlled individually via the app, routines and Alexa. A slight downside, however, is that the physical button only controls two outputs together and there's no way to physically toggle just one output on and off at a time. This isn't a problem for my application, but it may be a problem for you depending on your intended use. I've added some pictures to compare the size with other devices. You can see the double rosette is about the same size as the single Wemo and not much larger than the single Meross I already have. Meross single units are designed to fit into a wall socket (one above the other), but the dual unit is slightly taller and difficult to attach to another unit. You can see it in my third photo. Both work at a slight angle but are not as secure as I would like. In general, Meross smart devices have become a reliable smart home system for me. And this double smart socket is another useful addition for some Senaria.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Expensive
