This tarp is built like a tank! It is very durable. I've used it on camping trips as a top tarp with a ground sheet in cold weather. This kept the snow out of my bedroom and the condensation from my breath on me and my gear. I had to shake the ice off the condensation before packing it. The beauty of the square tarp is that there are so many edges. There is something for every weather and climate. It's heavier than an ultralight tarp but much stronger. It's worth the extra weight. Plus, it's small enough to fit in a daypack.
