You screwed up Simon

I have Simon's original game from 1979. This new version pales in comparison. Here is a list of all the bad things in this new version.1. The original Simon accelerates after completing sequences of 5, 9, and 13 signals. This new version stays at the same slow speed no matter how high you go.2. The tones of the Original Simon are musically harmonious. When you played them on a musical instrument, they actually formed a major chord, much like horn tones. In game 2, where you create your own pattern, you can play simple songs. The sounds in Simon's new version are simple beeps and boops, and they are not harmonic.3. The original Simon has "Last" and "Longest" buttons. The Last button plays the last sequence you just completed. So you can see where you went wrong. The Longest button plays the longest sequence played since power on. These two buttons are missing in the new version of Simon.4. The original Simon has a skill level switch that lets you set it to play in 8, 14, 20, or 31 sequences. If you reach the goal set by the skill level, the game will give you a victory signal. In the new version of Simon there is no difficulty level and no way to "win" the game. You just keep playing until you screw up. The game will then play a "victory" tune based on how far you have progressed in the game. In other words, the game plays a winning tune even when you lose. On the original Simon, if you lose, that's it. There's no "victory" tune at the end. I guess the creators of the new Simon didn't want anyone to feel bad about losing.5. In the original Simon, you have to click on each of the colored bars for them to work. The new version has panels that you just touch. This might seem like a good thing until you accidentally hit the bar and lose the game. Now here is a list of all the good things in Simon's new version.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No performance
