Dies once return window closes

I bought two of these and have been using one almost daily since receiving it. The one I'm using has already stopped working and it's been about 6 weeks. *Handy* I've already closed the return window, so I just spent the money on what's now just a piece of plastic paperweight. To say I'm upset would be an understatement.
