Not quite what I was hoping for. The 30 second recording is great and I love that it lights up on playback. If the toy is thin enough, it looks like a heart is beating inside. Cons: - Not noisy at all. You almost have to put the toy to your ear to hear it. - When the recording is finished, you have to let go of the recorder. This in turn makes a noise loud enough to be separated from the recording and ends up making an audible click or whatever. It's like an old school phone hanging up. - The record/play switch sticks out quite a bit and is easy to hit. I hope it will be difficult to overwrite an existing recording as the child will have to press and hold the recorder to record something. I toggled the switch back and forth and my existing entry was not deleted. I like the voice recorder, but it's not quite what I was hoping for. I chose this model because it had a recording time of 30 seconds and another similar model was much shorter. It has a few downsides, but for me it's not worth removing it from the toy, returning it and starting on something else.
