Revainrating 4 out of 5

Close but with 2 issues to improve

This iPad case with keyboard sold by TYPEASE could have been 5/5 if it wasn't for 2 issues. #1. The description of the case on the Revain website in the spec sheet above states that this case has an AUTO SLEEP/WAKE function WHICH MOST PEOPLE SUGGEST THAT IT PUT THE IPAD INTO AUTO SLEEP/WAKE MODE WILL DISPLACE because there are magnetic fields of something. what's happening. . at least with my new 10.2" iPad Gen 8 (2020). ipad AUTO-SLEEP only works if the user has actually REMOVED the magnetic keyboard from the case before closing it. This means the user basically has two options has: either leaving the keyboard in the device as intended, which results in huge battery drain on the iPad since it doesn't then automatically go to sleep, or constantly turning off the keyboard, which is extremely annoying dozens of times a day when a person takes a short break from work but wants the iPad to automatically go to sleep to conserve battery power. As a former engineering educator, I now wonder if a poorly worded spec sheet MEANS the keyboard backlight automatically goes into sleep mode Hibernation toggles (which is correct) Another issue that prevents 5/5 is that after clicking the iPad into the inner protective film (Po lyurethan?) for the iPad covers the outer shell (nice to look at). for fashion purpose only. protrudes about 1/8"-1/4" on 3 of the 4 edges of the iPad. Why could this be a problem? These protrusions actually interfere with ACCESS TO THE PHYSICAL VOLUME UP/DOWN BUTTONS. resulting in the user "selecting/running within" that raised edge to trigger those buttons. I'm a cautious person (32 years studying engineering) and this protrusion already makes the outer surface of the volume controls look damaged and I've owned the case less than 2 weeks! "Pros" are: 3 brightness levels. backlit keyboards, 7 nice backlight colors (light green I prefer), keys feel good when typing and feel good and solid, backlight goes into "sleep mode" when there is no typing for about 1 minute, which is VERY IMPORTANT , BOOSTS BATTERY POWER for a Bluetooth keyboard, and the price at just under $40 puts everything else to shame! While the 4/5 rating isn't perfect, I still recommend it if you agree with the issues mentioned.
