Great 2.5GB NIC for the price but small heatsink

Update 2: Just wanted to say that these 2.5GB cards are indeed Have drivers for most windows versions and I can get them to work Win 11/10, 7 and Visa NO working XP driver. The CD comes with the drivers and the XP driver on the disk is for 1GB cards so it will not work with this 2.5GB card. I also downloaded RealTek's XP driver and it's the same 2018 driver. I emailed RealTek asking about the XP driver for the 2.5GB card and they said XP is out of date and not supported. So note that this card will not work if you still have an XP system. It doesn't matter to me as I don't use XP very often and when I do I can just use the 1GB connector on the XP motherboard. Update: After a few days of use, I found the heatsink to be too small. for the chipset and gets very hot. Looks like it just got stuck there. I found another brand of ASIN B08V1HG47H which is exactly the same card but uses a much larger (red) heatsink to hopefully provide better cooling. My 10 year old custom PC has two 1GB LAN ports, but I'm having trouble with Comcast's 800Mbps speed. I usually get 500-600 on PC with CAT8 cable. I set this card to 2.5GB and connected it to my ASUS AX86U router with 2.5GB port and Win 10 shows a 2.5GB connection after I login and change the network settings from Changed Auto Negotiate to 2.5GB Full Duplex and disabled all green and power saving settings. Now I get 800 Mbit/s in full speed. And when I upgrade to the 1200Mbps plan, I know this card can support higher speeds.

Pros
  • ADD 2.5G RJ45 ETHERNET PORT
Cons
  • Long wait
