First impression of the box was that it was huge, opened the box to find the parts carelessly tossed into the box with plenty of extra space. At first we thought it was a return, but judging by the packaging it's just bad packaging design. Assembly was easy enough, although I found the lampshade was split so it could fit over the light fixture. This leaves a large and unsightly "seam" but more of a plastic overlap. Wanted to remove the plastic wrap covering the stem segments only to find they didn't tear easily and had to be cut with a knife. Observing the assembly, it is impossible to remove the plastic film without a knife even before assembly. In the end it works and brightens up the room, but not as much as we'd like.
