Happy with this item

I really think this is a great item for the price. It's smaller than I thought but I needed something small so that's not a problem. I use it as a laptop desk, and even though I have a tiny 8-inch tablet-style laptop, the device doesn't fit on the keyboard tray surface or the main desk surface when I open it up to use the keyboard, be it because, I remove it the shelf "Monitor". However, I think if you use it with a traditional countertop you'll be fine. I have a small printer on the bottom shelf, I think you could maybe install a skinny vertical processor next to it, but that would be cramped, or you could probably install a horizontal CPU with a small printer on top of it, but there's plenty of room for one on the other side bigger printer if you don't plan on keeping the CPU on the bottom shelf. It would have been nice to have a second lower shelf as there is plenty of shelf space between the lower shelf and the keyboard tray for additional storage. has received the color espresso and is very dark, almost black. The imitation wood is actually textured, not just a painted effect. The metal appears gray rather than the shiny chrome on the frame. The keyboard tray glides smoothly but doesn't move by itself. The front wheels are lockable, but I didn't lock them because I use them on carpeted floors and they are tight without slipping. It seemed to roll well when I rolled it across the lobby tiles. The whole item feels solid and I expect it to hold up well. Over the years I've built a lot of inexpensive furniture that I can assemble myself and I felt like this was one of the easiest things I've ever put together. Tips: Read the instructions. There were some extra parts so you have to be careful to use the right screws in the right places. Also laminate on wood sometimes covers some of the pre-drilled screw holes. Assembly will be much easier if you carefully poke holes with a pencil or small screwdriver and stretch the hole in the laminate. And finally, the hardest part was bolting the rear brace to the two frame posts. It was a little tricky balancing it with one person, but making sure the cambolts are properly aligned will make your life a lot easier. I used a flashlight to look into the screw hole and visually verify that the cam bolt was not partially blocking the screw hole. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend this piece if you are looking for something small like a computer desk.
