it took me a while to get it. only arrived on April 23rd.

by watching the old videos. We turned it on when my brother in law plugged it in. The light came on and everything seemed to work. I was just trying to play an old Last of the Mohicans video but it wouldn't work. In fact, he "ate" part of the tape. Then I thought I'd check the DVD player and it had a DVD of a scary movie that someone must have left in it. I couldn't get the DVD player to play either. I assumed you would take it back 30 days after receiving it. Please advise what to do. Many Thanks.
