Toe strap a little tight

My 6 year old wears them and loves them. I think the toe box is a little tight at the highest point of the strap but it loosened up a bit when he wore it. The straps are a little more plastic and a little less fabric than I prefer, but my son doesn't like it at all. The pattern on the footpad is comfortable for him and he is sensitive to patterns and we tried a few sandals that he wouldn't wear.
