Review on Omix Ada 17117 01 Thermostat Gasket by Ananta Crowley
The gasket failed immediately, it looks like it's made of soft cardboard, not gasket material.
This ill-fitting gasket (for a remanufactured WWII Jeep thermostat housing) leaked immediately despite extensive use of special sealant. The failed gasket appeared to be some sort of porous cardboard and was soaked with coolant, even though the thermostat housing was fully unscrewed. When they took it off, it fell down like wet toilet paper. I ended up cutting my own gasket from good quality gasket material and it worked great. Stay away from this overpriced part - it costs almost as much as the thermostat itself!
