My analysis of this gasket showed that it was able to prevent any coolant leaks ensuring that my engine stays cool and runs smoothly despite harsh weather conditions. The quality of the material IS impressive and highly durable. Although the installation process was a bit tricky, the end result was worth the effort. .

This ill-fitting gasket (for a remanufactured WWII Jeep thermostat housing) leaked immediately despite extensive use of special sealant. The failed gasket appeared to be some sort of porous cardboard and was soaked with coolant, even though the thermostat housing was fully unscrewed. When they took it off, it fell down like wet toilet paper. I ended up cutting my own gasket from good quality gasket material and it worked great.
