Review on Ultimate Performance and Style: Saucony πŸƒ S20543 40 Freedom Running Shoe in Black by Brandon Carraway

Revainrating 3 out of 5

After 2 months of use there were holes on the toes.

I'll admit that I've probably worn these shoes more than the average person, walking through the woods with sticks and climbing several mountains a week in the summer, jumping from rock to rock on the way down, toe-tapping . . . with every jump against the front. However, I've had a pair of Nike Pegasus for about 2 years and use them a lot more and they don't have toe holes. After wearing these shoes every day for about a month, they started showing holes in the front, and after about 2 months the holes were quite large. Sorry I don't have pictures, but every time it rains, water seeps into my socks and gets wet, and even walking in a few inches of snow becomes uncomfortable with ice and pebbles. They weren't too tight, in fact they were a bit loose for my feet. It's just weird how they broke so quickly. I had another pair of Saucony shoes, the Liberty ISO, which I wore for the entire XC season and 6 months after that until they broke. Their quality is, at least in my experience, significantly worse. I'm also not a big fan of styrofoam. Sure, they look good at first glance, but the moment you step on your shoes, they get wrinkled and ugly. I would suggest if you aren't serious about running and are only using them as a hiking shoe, get something with a regular sole that can be taken off in the winter. They don't have traction on ice, which I think goes without saying. But even if you walk, it's not the best option in my experience. The rest is quite comfortable. I still wear it on dry days when I'm not minding about my public image lol.

Pros
  • I love the style and very comfortable to wear
Cons
  • The size may not be correct, which may cause discomfort or blisters.
