This is my husband's camera but I've been using it quite a bit lately as my other two very old digital cameras have finally moved on to this huge graveyard Electronics Certainly I like them more than any of my previous cameras and my husband is happy to share them. (One was a Nikon and the other was actually another Canon, the PowerShot A1100IS, which lasted YEARS and worked great under heavy use, but was thicker and heavier and required AA batteries.) First, it's smaller and weighs less. . Second, it doesn't need batteries because it has a battery pack. I bought him an extra one so he always has a battery to charge, ready to go. The battery lasts LONG, especially when you don't use the flash, easily for a whole day of shooting. Third, the battery and SDHD card are very easy to insert and remove. And fourth (but this should be first on my list) - I like the high quality of photos (16 megapixels!) and videos and the 12x zoom. Fifth, everything is easy to use. In "AUTO" mode, this camera is easy to use! But there are so many features included - it's up to the user - just use it or delve into one of the many features and unleash the full potential of this high performance camera! I haven't tried Wi-Fi sharing or remote access yet. Shoot. But we used a timer - just put the camera on a mini tripod, struck a pose and after a few seconds we had a group shot. I haven't tried the "Creative Shot Mode" which brings up 5 filter options.
