The instructions work as advertised, the instructions are useless.
The guide and awl do the job well - the screws are plastic so I expect they will fail sooner or later. The awl is sharp and strong enough to cut through thick enough paper signatures and the pilot holes are well separated and aligned. The presented needles are of good quality. However, the included "waxed floss" is a glorified, flat-weave floss (meaning extra effort had to be made to ensure it lay flat in the signatures). I don't recommend this thread at all. Finally, the instructions are incomplete and confusing,
