My requirements for this monitor stand are a little different than most people's. Most people have 2 monitors that are the same size and usually the same brand – meaning they are the same size and weight on both sides. A TV on one side and a 20-inch VGA monitor on the other. This stand works very well. I also wanted to be able to turn off the 20 inch monitor and put my 15 inch laptop or maybe my 7 inch tablet in its place. My monitors weigh 9 pounds for 24" and 11 pounds for 20". The laptop weighs about 5 pounds. The monitor stand out of the box is perfect. A stand that supports monitors of the same size is very stable. I'm screwed for what I do because I want to be able to switch monitors and laptops without asking for help. I like it because it was easy to put together and meets my more unusual needs. The pictures of the back panels show screws tightening thumbscrews that fit the monitor but not the TV - I had to get creative and use some nuts as spacers - the thumbscrews were too long. The design is well thought out. You have full freedom of movement, cable control and even space to place the hex keys you need to adjust the position. I would give 6 stars if I could. I buy a lot from Revain and this is the best designed product I have bought in a long time.
