UPDATE: Upgraded from Start 1 to Start 3. Contacted support (vipsupport-at-bodno.com) and got good response. I had network issues when trying to duplicate on a single-sided machine. Guilty. On the positive side, I tested it in practice and it still works. However, my plan to outsource this task to the less tech-savvy will not work. This thing needs attention. But the following remains true: horrible software interface, fragile tapes, I'm really good at film gluing. Error signaling is weak. Some maps freeze for no reason. First review: Terrible software interface, not very good resolution, everything looks blurry. Ribbon broke after 10 cards. Didn't have time to set up and test in the return window so I'm stuck on this one. Any thoughts on saving? That's very expensive. Complete separation between software and printer. Auxiliary materials are missing. This is a cry for help.
