After initially installing the ceiling fan I was puzzled as to why the remote control wasn't working. Of course I thought that my control unit was defective. After reading the service booklet I realized that the remote control needs to be programmed. After programming the remote control, all ceiling fan functions will work correctly. I read a few reviews complaining about it not working properly, fan not slowing down or speeding up, lights not coming on etc etc. Most likely the only problem they had with the fan was, that they could not program the remote control. This is an awesome fan that circulates a ton of air. I have 2/72 inch fans in my home, one in a very large living room with a very high ceiling and another in my sunroom with a 9 foot ceiling. The one in the solarium has a short shaft that leaves a lot of space between the head and the fan. I'm 6ft 4" and can't get close enough to worry about hitting my head on the fan. I would recommend this fan to anyone looking for high airflow, remote control and LED lighting. Brilliant!
