Castings are impressive. I don't know of any other kit that has such a great, real "saddle" for the bottom of the pipe. The lid and door end are well formed and match schedule 40 PVC well. I would like the door to close more securely, but I modified it a little to give me a better rest when driving with a load of steel bars. For reference, this whole kit costs the same as two PVC end caps at my local store. irrigation outlet. The same kit from other online sources can cost almost double what is sold here! I can make my own hats. I can make my own U saddles but I really like these cast saddles and the price is very reasonable. so i bought the kit. I have some information and corrections (to the statements I saw in the comments) to share. First, it works well with PVC Schedule 40. If you need a lighter weight system, the kit will work with PVC Drain/Waste Schedule 20. However, you will need to use a flare on both ends to get the correct diameter. OR you can cut some ribbons a few inches each, cut these ribbons to stretch like a spring clip, attach them to each end and glue to get the right diameter for the cast ends to fit. To reinforce where the U-bolts go and allow the hose to fit the saddles better, you can (and I have!) add similar bands (cuffs?) to the places where the U-bolts hold it. A band saw comes in very handy at this stage! The U-bolts that came with me are NOT 3/8-16 like everyone says (including the distributor!). You're certainly close, but actually it's M10-1.5. It's close enough that the M10 nuts in this kit thread onto the slightly narrower 3/8-16 bolts, but the 3/8-16 nut doesn't fit the U-bolts that come with my kit . I had to create a custom mount for myself and buy 3/8 nuts which I thought I needed but NO. U-bolts don't fit. The thread pitch is just enough, but the diameter of the M10 screw is 0.6 mm larger than that of the 3/8 screw. So don't make my mistake! Note that these are metric sizes and don't waste your money on good quality 3/8 stainless steel hardware.
