Definitely not a 1/2 " NPT thread!
The pump has good flow and suction. My only complaint is that the threads are definitely not 1/2" NPT. Was going to install this with my rain barrel tonight but instead I'm going to a plumbing store tomorrow to try and install a fitting to turn these threads into a garden hose tomorrow. The included low pressure barb fittings and strainer are fine, but not my 1/2" NPT to 3/4" garden hose adapter. If you want to install plumbing with fittings other than those provided, find another pump.
