I mainly use it to photograph the front yard walking the dogs and picking up trash and the back yard for spotting raccoons. Therefore, the cameras are always connected. Some days it picks up movement all day, sometimes for about an hour. I'm not sure what counts as motion detection. Picks up leaves swaying in the wind. But it takes time to spot a moving garbage truck or a walking person. But it's just as good as other brands I've tried. It seems all brands use the same software. The behavior is the same and everyone is very bad at finding the right date. Whatever you put in the text file. Motion detection is below average, an average of four at best. I even put a moving fan in front of the camera and it caught some not all. 32G SD never achieves 100% coverage.
