Review on 🧡 High-Quality Aurifil A1050 2000 Cotton Thread - 1422Yds of Finest Craftsmanship by Kelsey Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you are looking for the number 2000, here it is

Aurifil recently changed the names of all their colors but the numbers remain the same. I sincerely wish that sellers on Revain who offer Aurifil would include the topic number in their title to reduce the confusion that will inevitably result from the name change. For example . . .in the title of this topic it is written that it is "light sand”, but before that it said "beige”. Some sellers are still using the old names and some have switched to the new ones. But it's still color #2000. Now for the review. . Before cutting the pieces, how many times have you carefully measured, used your machine's quarter-inch sewing foot, and slowly sewed the pieces together into a precise block? . Then you measured the block and found it to be smaller than the instructions say? This used to be the most annoying part of quilting for me. . so much so that I have given my blocks to various troubleshooting instructors. That's when I discovered Aurifil 50 wt thread. I never realized how big a difference one thread can make. But think about it. . .if the thread used is about the same thickness as the threads woven in, the seams go deeper into the fabric and take up less space. . . Make perfect seams every time. Now stretch the warp thread with your fingertips and watch out for the lumps. . .there are no lumps in the Aurifil thread. They actually burn off the nuggets during the manufacturing process, leaving the thread silky smooth. By far the best sewing thread. However, because it's so thin, it's certainly strong enough to hold the seams together when sewing clothes, but it's harder to pull the gathers. . So don't throw away polyester/cotton threads as they are still useful for sewing clothes. . .but nothing but Aurifil comes close to my quilts! Incidentally, this special color is the only Aurifil color that is natural. . .without dyes. . .This color is cotton. . .and goes well with most light to medium colors. This is the color I'm most attached to.
