Review on Pack Of 3 Babyganics Citrus Foaming Dish & Bottle Soap In 16Oz Pump Bottles - Packaging May Vary by Balakrishna Tam

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Safe, slightly expensive, but the bubbles and foam make it kind of hard to use for a full sink of dishes

We got this after realizing that the dish soap we were using was higher than we wanted it to rank on the safe cosmetics database in terms of questionable ingredients. This seems to work just as well and is less toxic, but the problem is that it comes out in bubbles or foam and not like regular dish soap and it just seems hard to get on the dishes. It works well to wash your hands, but it is slightly less helpful with the dishes. It feels more like hand soap or good to squirt on one dish that you need to wash, but when washing a whole sink of dishes the bubble/foam doesn't seem to be ideal. We switched from the Seventh Generation soap which ranks higher (worse) in the safe cosmetics database (which obviously includes more than cosmetics since this is soap). I think as I was reading around some people felt as this soap was not quite as strong as others they had used or, for instance, Dawn. I feel like it compares equally to Seventh Generation and indeed less strong than Dawn since Dawn uses harsher chemicals. We might keep some on hand to use occasionally for small jobs, but if you are going to wash a whole sink of dishes this just don't squirt as well or stick to the dishes like regular dish soap does and we're going to have to go back to Seventh Generation.

Pros
  • Made without phosphates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances or dyes
Cons
  • May require more product than traditional dish soap for effective cleaning
