Opinion of a paying customer

Contrary to most recent reviews, I did not receive a free sample of this product. I bought it at full price based on the 5 star rating because I was having trouble finding my favorite body scrub (from 3M) at a reasonable price. It was once sold in every pharmacy and discount store in town. Although no more. The plastic "pouf" has taken its place in all my local stores - and this is a very poor substitute. A- they don't work that well, B- they break down too quickly, and C- they are NOT environmentally friendly. faced with a choice of HUNDREDS of options. Ultimately, I chose this one for its two-sided rating and versatility. I foolishly thought the terry side was made from high quality Egyptian cotton as they are said to be made in Egypt. It's definitely not high quality and I don't even think it's cotton because it's stretchy. Upon arrival I was blown away. I took photos to show how low quality these things are. Let's start with a pouch made of non-woven polyester material (e.g. Pellonยฎ pads) that is melted (rather than sewn) at the seams. The cable is nylon, also plastic. I don't understand how it can be called biodegradable exactly, but it is. A muslin bag with a cotton drawstring would do, but not this one. After a single shower I was even more disappointed. I couldn't figure out where my foaming Dove shower gel got to, but I knew it wasn't working the way it used to. I didn't like how the loofah felt on my skin and it left it quite red. The other side is so soft that a regular washcloth will exfoliate more. It's like one extreme or the other and neither worked for my sensitive, very flaky skin. I knew I was going to throw them away, but before I did I cut up what I wasn't using. I wondered what was in it that was soaking up all the foam. Wow, the photos speak for themselves. Inside I found 2 thin pieces of polyurethane foam (PUR). One of them that looked like a big chunk was removed. Okay, that explains where my shower gel went! If you are looking for a natural or organic product, I encourage you to keep looking.
