Poor quality, not worth the security

I bought this for my fur baby to protect him on our walks. (That's why car seats are, after all.) It was so comfortable and soft, she thought it was the best bed ever! But there were problems in the car. The straps weren't that hard to figure out, but they weren't secure enough to make my girl feel secure. There was no rigid ground support to give it a sense of stability. It was supposed to hang between the seat and the headrest so she could look out the windows and see me because she has separation anxiety. She is very small and can only see when the seat is raised. But when I put her on that seat, she just sank into the middle like it was a soft shopping bag. We didn't laugh. My girl stayed there for about 20 seconds before she got so excited I had to take her out. I was able to solve this problem by placing a box under the seat that was the right height to set it up to see everything and provide support. Problem: She was already suspicious of the comfortably padded shopping bag she swallowed. Another problem was that the sites offered no security at all. They are thicker than a dog's bedding, which provides some protection in the event of an accident. But there is nothing solid that would protect them from a blow. What it does is buckle it up in the event of a hard stop. I sit on my lap or sit on the seat and ask to be thrown through the windshield to prevent this. My husband and I have an RV and we travel. What worries me the most is her walking around the van or not wearing her seat belt. A car seat helps some. But there's another problem, and it's a big one. We used it for the first time and the whole floor exploded! It was nothing more than a thin sheer fabric and I took it out of the car and laid my purse on it. My bag fell through and fell to the ground. Oh God. The time to bring it back is over. I'm stuck with this thing trying to make the most of it by putting the bottom on the box. (Beverly Hills is taking Double Wide on vacation?) Wouldn't buy again and wouldn't recommend to anyone.
