Toasts. He's not even toast. Some settings are hotter than others. The cord comes out when viewed from the front, at the front right it should come out at the back. Short cable. If you turn it over so you can plug it in, you'll be looking at the back of the toaster. All buttons are on the back because the cable is short. Hope that helps.
