I use them to honor GOOD police officers and medical personnel. I don't really need bright light or have any way of determining energy efficiency, and as for the cost, I selfishly ordered online rather than embarrassing myself (yes, I understand my failing as a consumer who puts others at risk). I was disappointed that the paint didn't completely cover the bulb, but I would store and use it on a custom (don't know what to call it!) lamppost outside of my home.
