So, somewhere in that wall of text I forgot that I ordered the SKU without an adapter. That's not very good, and I take most of the blame, but not all. This needs to be made VERY clear, not only to make this one device clear, but also because you can't seem to order an adapter separately and it doesn't provide the statistics needed to be able to contact a third party. . It's anti-consumer. So be more careful than I was or you'll become skeptical like me every time you buy anything else from the Hue ecosystem. Which is normal given today's options - when I went for this, they were the only game in town. Now you can find cheaper/better/more flexible/compatible elsewhere and I encourage you to do so.
