Review on Green Tidings Natural Deodorant Unscented by Tim Cade

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Excellent customer service

Update: The company responded to my review (see comments) and offered me a defective batch and offered a replacement or refund even though it had been a few months since purchase. I contacted them through Revain and explained the situation and they promptly refunded my money within 2 days. Having not tried the product again, I can't confirm how it holds up or if I've had a long-term reaction, so I can't *really* rate it. So I'm keeping my original rating but updating my experience and giving a positive rating for the seller. However, I will say that if you don't have a problem with any of the ingredients, give it a try! Worst case you had to ask for a refund and the company seems genuinely concerned about making a quality product and providing quality customer service which is a rarity these days. I just received it yesterday and tried it today. It felt a bit "thick" (a bit of rubbing when applied), but it didn't leave me sticky and absorbed quickly. I tend to have sensitive skin, but the baking soda in it didn't bother me. Seems like it would be a winner if "Unscented" didn't smell strongly of coconut, which I hate. And the smell stays. I've used coconut oil in homemade body scrubs with no problem, so I didn't worry about that with this deodorant. However, I'm not that familiar with shea butter, maybe that's the reason for the smell? Unfortunately, it looks like other versions also contain shea, so I won't be buying this brand again. On a positive note, the deodorant came packaged in a pouch with an ingredient information leaflet and a customer support email. I have chosen not to contact them as I have used the product but Green Tidings seems to genuinely care about their customers and stand behind their products. Recommended to try if you don't mind coconut.
