UPDATE: After about a month of use, the light output seems good. Maybe it was a distorted perception at first, or maybe I'm just used to it, but either way they seem good now. Let's see if they stand the test of time. I use them in my bathroom vanity (5 bulbs total) and no more than an hour a day. The 40w incandescent bulbs they replaced probably lasted there 10 years, so I would expect the LEDs to last at least that long, which is reason for paying a high price for them. Well, it's energy-saving. Total power for 5 LEDs = 20W versus 200W for 5 incandescent bulbs. Not bad. The bulbs themselves are ok, I'm sure they will last a long time as will most quality LEDs, but I'm a bit disappointed with the brightness compared to the 40w incandescent bulbs they replaced. I thought they were at least equal if not more than the wattage of an equivalent incandescent bulb. They're exactly the same size with an E12 (aka candelabra) base, and yet these LEDs are noticeably dimmer. Strange.
